Studying at the Faculty
The courses of study offered by the faculty were originally based on the cooperation with small and medium-sized companies in the optical and precision mechanics industries in the region and are still supported by these companies.
As a result, the study of these engineering sciences is both application-oriented and extremely practical in nature. The teaching and study topics are closely geared to the requirements of current and future job markets and are interdisciplinary in their structure.
Training for practical application
The students can directly apply what they have learned in well-equipped laboratories and during their in-company practical training. Manageable numbers of students in any one semester and close supervision in small study groups enable the approximately 600 students to build a solid foundation for their studies and to reach their goals quickly.
Students can also choose from a wide variety of different electives to round out their programs.
Good prospects for engineers
Graduates from these courses of study can expect to take advantage of outstanding opportunities for their career development. HAWK engineers, both male and female, have excellent, widely diverse job opportunities in the fields of research and development as well as in sales and product management.
